Drilling has finished of the final horizontal production well on the Tortue field offshore Gabon, according to operator BW Energy.

OSLO, Norway – Drilling has finished of the final horizontal production well on the Tortue field offshore Gabon, according to operator BW Energy.
The DTM-7H well encountered good-quality oil-bearing sands, in line with prognosis. Work now starts on the completion and tie-in of the DTM-6H and DTM-7H, with first oil set to flow early in 4Q.
Earlier this week the Hibiscus North exploration well (DHBNM-1) was spudded on the same Dussafu Marin license, 6 km (3.7 mi) north-northeast of the Hibiscus discovery well DHIBM-1 in a water depth of 115 m (377 ft).
According to partner Panoro Energy, this well is targeting 10-40 MMbbl of oil recoverable in the Gamba formation on a structure with a geological analogue to the Ruche field.
