OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has approved drilling plans submitted by three operators.
Spirit Energy Norway can use the jackup Valaris Viking for side track drilling and re-completion of a well on the Oda field in the southern Norwegian sector.
Well 8/10-B-3 AH will be drilled in license 405: Oda is a subsea tieback to the bp-operated Ula field.
Aker BP has authorization to employ the jackup Maersk Integrator for production drilling on the Ivar Aasen filed in the central Norwegian North Sea.
Finally, INEOS E&P Norge has the go-ahead to drill the Fat Canyon prospect in block 6306/3 in the Norwegian Sea.
The semisubmersible Borgland Dolphin will drill well 6306/3-1 in PL 937 in 241 m (790 ft) of water depth, with drilling expected to last at least 40 days.
