Maersk Viking to drill for Shell offshore Malaysia

Shell has contracted the drillship Maersk Viking for four development wells at the Gumusut-Kakap project offshore Malaysia.

LYNGBY, Denmark – Shell has contracted the drillship Maersk Viking for four development wells at the Gumusut-Kakap project offshore Malaysia.
The 150-day contract is due to start in December, with a duration of 150 days.
Firm value is around $34 million, including mobilization, with options for up to five more wells offshore Malaysia, the Philippines, and Brunei Darussalam.
The Maersk Viking is a 7th-generation ultra-deepwater drillship that was delivered in 2013. It is currently operating offshore Brunei Darussalam.
