HAMILTON, Bermuda Borr Drilling Ltd. has issued an update on its jackup drilling rig fleet.

BW Energy has contracted the Norve for two wells plus one option offshore Gabon. Drilling is expected to start in April 2021. The rig is currently warm stacked.

ONE-Dyas has amended the contract for the Prospector 1 offshore the Netherlands for three optional wells. The first optional well has been exercised. Operations are expected to run from January 2021 to March 2021.

In addition, the Prospector 1 has received a letter of intent from an unnamed company for four wells plus options for operations in the North Sea. It has an estimated period of seven months.

In Asia, the Idun has received a letter of award from an unnamed company to commence operations in 1Q 2021. The company will have four active rigs in Asia. The contract’s estimated duration, excluding options, is for a period up to 12 months.

The recent awards will bring the total number of committed and contracted rigs up to 13. The new contract, extension, and LOA add $35.1 million over about 480 days to the total backlog, the company said.

Also, Borr said it is negotiating terms with Pemex for an extension to the current contract covering five rigs contracted under the integrated well services business model. The aim is to secure incremental work throughout 2021 in Mexico. The company said a key point in the negotiations is improvement in the working capital situation in Mexico.
