Lundin gets go-ahead for North Sea wildcat well

Lundin Energy has permission to drill an exploration well close to its Solveig discovery in the Norwegian North Sea.

OSLO, Norway – Lundin Energy has permission to drill an exploration well close to its Solveig discovery in the Norwegian North Sea.

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate authorized well 16/4-13 S, 6 km (3.7 mi) northwest of Solveig in production license 359, using the semisubmersible West Bollsta.

This will be the sixth exploratory well on the license, which was awarded early in 2006. The other licensees are OMV and Wintershall Dea.
