OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has approved two production drilling programs for North Sea projects.
Repsol Norge has permission to use the jackup Maersk Inspirer for connection, completion and start-up preparations at fixed facilities on the Yme field in the southeastern Norwegian North Sea, in water depths of 77-93 m (252-305 ft).
Yme was originally developed by Statoil. Production ceased in 2001, but an amended plan for the present redevelopment was approved in March. Start-up should follow later this year.
Wintershall Dea will use Northern Ocean’s semisubmersible West Mira for a 409-day production drilling campaign on the Vega field.
