HOUSTON – Apache Corp. expects its Maka Central #1 exploration well offshore Suriname to reach TD this month at around 6,325 m (20,751 ft).

The well, drilled by the drillship Noble Sam Croft 7 mi (11.3 km) from the offshore Suriname/Guyana median line, is designed to test multiple targets.

Apache has also exercised an option to use the rig for two additional wells in Suriname offshore block 58.

During 3Q, the company had on average three rigs in operation on its fields in the UK central North Sea, which were producing a total of 54,000 boe/d.

Later this month the company expects to bring its first well online at the Storr accumulation and its second well at Garten online around year-end.

The latest Garten well delivered around 1,200 ft (366 m) of pay, significantly above pre-drill estimates.
