OTC 2023: New maritime SaaS company helps users reduce carbon emissions

ABS Wavesight President and CEO Paul Sells says the company offers products and partnerships to support the modernization of fleet operations.

ABS Wavesight, launched in November 2022, is a new maritime software-as-a-service (SaaS) company that is using the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) as its introduction to the industry.

ABS Wavesight boasts that its product dashboards are collectively installed on more than 5,000 vessels across the global fleet and deliver rich, real-time feedback to help fleet operators reduce their carbon footprint and drive ESG initiatives.

ABS Wavesight is positioning itself as a software-specific organization within the ABS & Affiliated Companies enterprise, with a focus on helping users reduce their carbon emissions.

Recently, the company announced its partnership with Chevron Shipping to help improve emissions reporting practices and streamline and consolidate existing greenhouse-gas data collection practices.  

In addition, ABS Wavesight promotes collaboration among industry partnerships, such as Kongsberg Digital and Sofar Ocean, with operators and owners, such as Capital Ship Management and Diana Shipping Services, which are implementing the My Digital Fleet platform to support sustainability goals.

My Digital Fleet provides fleet insights in real time. Driven by ABS Wavesight's data models, the platform lets users assess, manage and optimize a fleet with speed and precision.

Moreover, the My Digital Fleet Alliance Program is designed to "nurture an ecosystem of industry trusted partners including data and intelligence providers, technology providers and service providers to accomplish critical business outcomes for clients through integrated insights on one digital platform," the company states on its website. The program participants thus far include Kongsberg, Lloyd's List, EMH Systems, Sofar Ocean, AVEVA, Control Risks, Yellow.ai, Meteomatics, Marklink and ActZero.
