Exxon Mobil has awarded TGS its 2024 Supplier Innovation Award for the Gemini Enhanced Frequency Source technology development.
According to TGS, this is a single-element, omnidirectional source configured optimally for imaging frequencies that also limits HSE exposure for vessel crews.
TGS says Gemini is designed to eliminate the complexity and variability caused by angle or azimuth, leading to more accurate amplitude versus offset/amplitude versus angle (AVO/AVA) analyses and faster convergence in full waveform inversion (FWI) algorithms.
