BSC Separation, a graduate of the Centre’s TechX accelerator, will work with Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen to further develop its compact multiphase separator, which could potentially reduce offshore emissions while at the same time generating electricity offshore.
Other possible applications include use as a compact CO₂ stripper, replacing large contacting towers.
Various industry partners plan to support phase one of the development and performance testing of a full-scale pre-production prototype will undergo assessment at the Robert Gordon test loop late this year.
The OGTC plans to issue a call for ideas for its Net Zero R&D Programme this spring.
