ABL Group entered into an agreement Dec. 5 to acquire Rio de Janeiro-based Proper Marine, a naval architecture and engineering consultancy.
The intention is to merge the company with ABL’s design and engineering division, Longitude, expanding the group’s capabilities in design and engineering for offshore energy and maritime construction and operations.
Proper Marine, formed in 2010, provides vessel design and conversion, asset integrity management and life extension, and marine and energy operations engineering services, including for FPSOs. With more than 90 employees, it supports clients in Brazil, the US, Senegal, Spain, Portugal, China and other countries.
Longitude's latest offshore projects
Petrosafe contracted Longitude Engineering in July to provide a "Fitness for Future Service" assessment on the Warda platform in the north central Gulf of Suez offshore Egypt. The structure comprises a four-legged jacket supporting wellhead and production facilities over the Al-Zaafarana oil field.
In addition, Longitude Engineering announced in January that it will provide detailed design and engineering services for the subsea Phase-X development in Burullus Energy’s West Delta Deep Marine concession, 90 km offshore Egypt on the northwestern part of the Nile Delta.
