The CEOs of Eni and SOCAR have signed a memorandum of understanding to assess new cooperation opportunities.
They will evaluate synergies and investment in new and existing E&P projects in Azerbaijan and in countries where Eni has operations; national and international gas transport infrastructure; projects and technologies to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions; and initiatives to promote sustainable development within the energy industry.
The United Nations Climate Change Conference COP 29 is due to take place in Azerbaijan this November.
