HOUSTONC-Innovation LLC (C-I), an affiliate of Edison Chouest Offshore and its family of companies, has opened a new dock facility in Port Fourchon, Louisiana, to expand the capabilities of its Subsea Services group.

With more than 550 ft (168 m) of open quayside, Bayou Lafourche is a main entrance into the facility, which is supplied with a Manitowoc 777 crane and forklifts for rapid mobilizations of the company’s subsea construction and inspection, maintenance and repair fleet of vessels, including the 525-ft (160-m) longIsland Venture offshore construction vessel.

The dock facility, which will be manned 24 hours a day, will serve as the base for the company’s Fourchon operations and features client offices, conference rooms with full streaming connectivity, bunk houses, and parking for offshore crews.

David Sheetz, subsea manager, C-I, said: “This new facility supports our mission of serving as the single source for subsea solutions. By having our own dedicated dock facility, we can immediately respond to customers’ needs and instantly mobilize resources. By storing critical components locally in Fourchon instead of mobilizing from our main base in Mandeville, we can more efficiently reduce operating expenditure, which will improve efficiency and decrease costs for our customers.”

The new facility is located at the end of AJ Estay Road.
