ABERDEEN, UK -- Balmoral Offshore Engineering is investing over $3.2 million in a new 30,000-sq ft (2,787-sq m) manufacturing facility at its Aberdeen headquarters.

Designed by Balmoral’s engineering and technical teams, the plant will increase production capacity for the company’s buoyancy products, particularly marine drilling riser modules.

“Because we are seeing an increase in orders for drill riser buoyancy and elastomer products, such as bend restrictors and cable protection, investment is needed in manufacturing capacity and staffing resources,” says Jim Milne, chairman and MD of Balmoral Offshore Engineering.
