Nexans wins Statoil fasttrack work

Nexans has won a €45 million ($58 million) contract with Statoil to provide static and dynamic umbilicals for three fasttrack projects on the Norwegian continental shelf.

PARIS – Nexans has won a €45 million ($58 million) contract with Statoil to provide static and dynamic umbilicals for three fasttrack projects on the Norwegian continental shelf.

The projects are the Oseberg Delta field in the North Sea, the Snøhvit gas field in theBarents Sea and the Smørbukk Sør field in the Norwegian Sea.

Nexans will manufacture a total of around 42 km (26 mi) of umbilicals at its Halden, Norway facility. Manufacturing is scheduled to begin mid-2013 for delivery in 2014 and 2015.

The umbilicals will be installed in 100 m (328 ft) water depths at Oseberg, 345 m (1132 ft) depths at Snøhvit and in 300 m (984 ft) of water at Smørbukk.
