BAAR, Switzerland – As part of its prequalification process for potential suppliers, Trans-Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) has issued a contract notice for large-diameter ball valves.

TAP will construct an 870-km-long (541-mi-long) high-pressure natural gas pipeline and associated infrastructure across Greece, Albania, and the Adriatic Sea, coming ashore in Southern Italy. Companies interested in being prequalified for this contract need to request a prequalification questionnaire from TAP no later than Aug. 11.

The scope of this supply contract includes manufacturing, testing, and delivery of large-diameter ball valves: approximately eight of 36-in. (Class 900) valves and 46 of 48-in. (Class 600) valves. Potential suppliers need to demonstrate their ability to meet TAP’s quality requirements and to supply necessary volumes in accordance with the pipeline’s development schedule.

Only a selected number of prequalified companies will be invited to participate in the subsequent tendering stages of TAP’s procurement process for these large-diameter valves.
