HOUSTON — Talos Energy has completed its acquisition of QuarterNorth Energy, an E&P independent focused on the US Gulf of Mexico.

Timothy S. Duncan, Talos’ president and CEO, said, "We expect the addition of these predominantly operated, oil-weighted deepwater assets and related infrastructure will enhance our ability to consistently generate substantial free cash flow while expanding our portfolio of growth opportunities.”

Talos Energy first executed agreements in January to acquire QuarterNorth Energy for $1.29 billion.

QuarterNorth’s production this year is set to average about 30 MMboe/d, 75% of which is oil. Its producing portfolio includes six major fields, Talos said, of which 95% are operated and in deep water.
