Offshore staff
HORTON, Norway — Vissim, which supplies marine management services to developers and operators of offshore wind farms, has acquired Nesspoint.
The two companies have a long-standing relationship, according to Vissim’s managing director of Global Wind, Nicholas Dent. Nesspoint provides marine optimization and planning software for five offshore wind farms in Europe, including Iberdrola’s Baltic Eagle and EDF Renewables’ Courseulles sur Mer.
Vissim’s marine optimization software is either deployed or about to be implemented at 21 offshore wind farms across England, Scotland, Germany, France and Japan.
The systems are said to allow wind farm developers and operators to reduce construction and operating risks, while also lowering costs and environmental footprints.
Vissim’s software combines input from numerous sources, including maritime surveillance systems, radio communication, and vessel traffic management, to create a real-time overview of all marine facilities.
The company’s resource database incorporates more than 25,000 technicians, with a full overview of their certificates and competence, allowing developers and operators to automate certification, induction and permitting processes.
