HOUSTON  Kongsberg Digital will become the majority owner in FutureOn, after agreeing to increase its stake in the Norwegian developer of cloud-based digital transformation tools and software.

FutureOn, formed in 2016, specializes in subsea life-of-field and project delivery services, while Kongsberg Digital focuses on the operational and maintenance phase. It has 38 employees in Oslo and a presence in Houston, London, Dubai, Lyon and Perth.

Other owners in the company are Bentley Systems and the existing management.

FutureOn’s software is said to optimize cost control, resource management and project development.

Kongsberg Digital CEO Shane McArdle said, “FutureOn is a frontrunner in developing technology toward the early phase of an asset life cycle, making its technology a perfect fit for our Industrial Work Surface...

“This partnership also plays a key role in extending our offering into the renewable market. Today we have a strong offering for carbon capture and storage and hydrogen. FutureOn's technology will play a key role in Kongsberg Digital's strategy toward green energy field developments like offshore wind.”

For more information, visit Kongsberg Digital at OTC booth 4551 and FutureOn at booth 4239.
