MONACO  SBM Offshore subsidiary Imodco received approval in principle (AIP) from DNV for its Imodco Ammonia CALM Terminal concept, according to a Sept. 18 news release.

This is an adaptation of existing CALM technology to meet the requirements for green ammonia, which brings challenges in terms of storage and transportability.

The concept involves the use of the architecture deployed by Imodco for single point mooring terminals for green ammonia production sites in remote locations, providing safe loading of ammonia carrier vessels in open seas.
