Ithaca completes takeover of Siccar Point Energy

Ithaca Energy has completed its acquisition of UK E&P independent Siccar Point Energy, which was first announced in April.

ABERDEEN, UK  Ithaca Energy has completed its acquisition of UK E&P independent Siccar Point Energy, which was first announced in April.

The package includes interests in two large-scale planned field developments west of Shetland.

Ithaca now has a 70% operated interested in Cambo, 80 miles west of Shetland on the Corona Ridge structural feature. Shell holds the remaining 30%.

Cambo, discovered by Amerada Hess in 2002, will be developed with a circular Sevan FPSO designed to operate without the need for routine flaring or venting of hydrocarbons to reduce emissions. The development also will be built electrification ready.

The Equinor-operated Rosebank Field, 20 km to the north, was discovered by Chevron in 2004 and has since been appraised by five wells.

Equinor plans to redeploy the Petrojarl Knarr FPSO from Shell’s Knarr Field in the Norwegian North Sea. Ithaca gains a 20% interest via Siccar Point Energy.
