ABERDEEN, UK – Stena Drilling has taken a 30% stake in Intebloc, a developer of digital solutions for offshore lifting operations.
The company will use Stena Drilling’s support to intensify product development and to diversify into the global renewables and marine sectors.
Intebloc CEO Ross McLeod said: “We have benefited significantly from Stena’s feedback in the development of Rig-Ware, which has now been successfully deployed with several UKCS operators and service companies.”
Stena Drilling uses Rig-Ware for managing and tracking lifting equipment. The system was initially trialled on various rigs and is now in use across the company’s fleet to reduce the risk of lifting equipment failures, and to support decision making.
The Oil and Gas Technology Centre in Aberdeen provided the initial support for the development and continues to work with Intebloc on a new, enhanced lifting solution, focused on safe marine operations.
