OSLO, NorwayFutureOn has entered a partnership with Bentley Systems designed to speed up digitalization of the oil and gas industry.

It involves combining FutureOn’s field design application (FieldAP) and its collaboration platform (FieldTwin) with Bentley’s iTwin platform to deliver a digital twin solution applicable to upstream project design methodologies over the next decade.

Both companies’ platforms use open web standards that are said to facilitate complex integration and customization. Their combined offerings are already being implemented in E&P workflows.

FieldAP secured the OTC Spotlight on New Technology Award in 2019 for software innovation in the oil and gas industry. FieldTwin, a more recent cloud-based data platform development, provides API integrations to engineering simulation and data analysis tools.

In combination, FieldTwin and FieldAP are said to allow cross-discipline remote collaboration for design and development of subsea digital twins.
