Equinor ramps up exploration drilling in the Norwegian Sea

Equinor has authorization from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate to drill two wells close to the Alve field in the Norwegian Sea.

OSLO, Norway – Equinor has authorization from the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NDP) to drill two wells close to the Alve field in the Norwegian Sea.
The semisubmersibleTransocean Spitsbergen will drill exploratory well 6507/3-13 and appraisal well 6507/3-13 A in production license 159 B, which covers part of block 6507/3. INEOS is the sole partner.
Oslo-based Pandion Energy has an agreement to join Equinor as a 20% farminee to licenses PL 263 D and PL 263 E in the Haltenbanken area of the Norwegian Sea, over respectively blocks 6407/1 and 6507/10.
Currently Equinor is maturing the Appolonia prospect, and this could be drilled in 2020. Spirit Energy is the other partner in the licenses.
