CALGARY, Canada – Husky Energy expects drilling to start soon of the three final wells for the Liuhua 29-1 field development in the South China Sea.

A total of seven new wells will be tied into the existing Liwan infrastructure, with first gas anticipated around the end of 2020.

The company and partnerCNOOC are targeting peak production from the third deepwater field at Liwan of 45 MMcf/d of gas and 1,800 b/d of liquids.

Offshore Newfoundland, Husky expects two additional infill wells at the White Rose field to come online before mid-year. This is part of a program to offset reservoir declines at the field and its satellite extensions until the start-up of theWest White Rose project.

Recently, slip-forming was completed for the new West White Rose fixed wellhead platform to a height of 46 m (151 ft).

Production at theSeaRoseFPSO re-started at the end of January after having been suspended on Nov. 16 following an oil release from a flowline connector in the South White Rose Extension drill center.

Operations resumed initially from the Central drill center, with production expected to ramp up as additional subsea drill centers are brought online.
