GSP to manage Black Sea Midia project construction

Black Sea Oil & Gas and its partners have contracted GSP Offshore to provide and install all offshore and onshore facilities and to drill the development wells for the Midia gas project in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea.

BUCHAREST, Romania – Black Sea Oil & Gas (BSOG) and its partners have contracted Constanta-based GSP Offshore to provide and install all offshore and onshore facilities and to drill the development wells for the Midia gas project in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea.
The scope, which is subject to a final investment decision, covers procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning of the subsea gas production system over the Doina field; construction, installation, and commissioning of new unmanned production platform at the Ana field, to be built in Constanta; the subsea pipeline system that will link the production platform to the shore; the onshore pipeline; and the new gas treatment plant that will be built in Vadu village.
The jackupGSP Uranus will drill the single subsea production well at Doina and the four platform wells at Ana.
BSOG estimates that completion of the project infrastructure will take two years, with Romanian content accounting for 70% of the costs of the $400-million project, designed to provide 10% of the country’s gas needs.
