ABERDEEN, UK– Siccar Point Energy has contracted well construction specialist DeltaTek Global to support its drilling and field development operations in the UK North Sea area.
DeltaTek, operating on a call off basis, will provide cementing services via its SeaCure technology, which delivers stabbed-in, inner string cementing for subsea wells.
The technique is said to offer major cost and time benefits to drilling and field development, including the elimination of shoetracks and clean out runs; improved cement placement and reduced displacement; offline casing pressure testing; and improved drill out performance, with a minimized risk of bottomhole assembly damage.
This award follows successful initial ‘proof of concept’ trials earlier this year, and numerous live field trials during the summer.
SeaCure will be implemented on Siccar Point’s Lyon exploration well west of Shetland.
