OSLO, Norway – The Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has sanctioned DEA Norge’s exploration drilling plan for block 7321/4 in the Barents Sea.

The semisubmersibleIsland Innovator will spud well 7321/4-1 in license 721 late next month on the Gråspett prospect, 120 km (75 mi) northeast of the Johan Castberg field and 309 km (192 mi) from the Norwegian mainland.

Water depth at the site is 497 m (1,630 ft). Drilling should take at least 32 days to complete.

Equinor has the PSA’s permission to use the semisubSonga Enabler for production drilling on the Trestakk field development in the Norwegian Sea.

The consent applies to drilling and completion of new wells, workover and well intervention. Operations will start during the fall and continue for around 350 days.

Trestakk is 20 km (12.4 mi) south of Åsgard: production is due to start next year through a subsea template with four well slots and a satellite well, tied back to the Åsgard A platform for processing and gas injection.
