OSLO, Norway – Statoil has permission from the Norwegian Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) to use two rigs for drilling programs on the Troll field in the North Sea.
Drilling is scheduled to begin in April and is expected to last 80 days.
The semisubmersibleSonga Endurance will perform workover, intervention and plugging of well 31/2-X-11 CH in 332 m (1,089 ft) water depth.
The semiSonga Equinox will undertake a similar program on well 31/2-Y-24 CYH XT.
In addition, PSA has approvedAker BP’s request to use the semi Deepsea Stavanger for workover/recompletion of wells 6507/5-A-3H and 6507/5-B-6 H on the Skarv field in the Norwegian Sea, starting next month.
