BW Energy has completed the latest production drilling campaign in the Dussafu license offshore Gabon.
This had been expanded to eight wells across the Hibiscus/Ruche area to include fast-track development of two discoveries announced in May, with combined 2P reserves of 23.1 MMbbl.
Presently five of the eight wells are onstream, alongside existing producers at the Tortue field, with cumulative production from the block now approaching 40,000 bbl/d.
According to partner Panoro Energy, the present focus is on migrating all the new wells to conventional electrical submersible pump (ESP) systems and restoring production at three shut-in wells. Thereafter, the partnership plans to drill the Bourdon exploration block, with estimated recoverable reserves of 298 MMbbl in the Gamba and Dentale formations.
Following the discovery in May of the Hibiscus Northern Flank, the DHIBM-7H production well was drilled and brought online earlier this month.
The Borr Norve jackup will conduct a workover/ESP replacement program next, following which all wells will be equipped with conventional ESP systems.
In addition, production from BW Energy’s Golfinho field offshore Brazil has been impacted by a maintenance shutdown on the FPSO Cidade de Vitória. Output should climb after work has been completed on a gas-lift compressor, with full compressor capacity expected by first-quarter 2025.
