OSLO, Norway – DNO has shut in the West Bukha-5B development well, pending completion of artificial lift studies.
The well was drilled to a depth of 4,500 m (14,764 ft) and tested oil, but would not flow naturally.
DNO added that the unrelated offshore Bukha-1 well umbilical replacement and production reinstatement is close to completion.
Offshore Norway, the company plans to bid in two licensing rounds in the fall and expects to add to the 11 North Sea licenses it picked up earlier this year.
