HOUSTON -- Cameron has acquired SBS Oilfield Equipment GmbH. SBS designs, builds and installs in-well rod lift pumping and progressive cavity pumping systems, and provides associated services. These systems include sucker rods, pony rods, rod guides, pumps, and anchors associated with artificial lift in producing wells.
"The acquisition of SBS expands Cameron's portfolio of artificial lift businesses and broadens our technical expertise and market presence particularly in Russia, Kazakhstan and central Asia where SBS has a large installed base of pump systems," says Ed Will, VP of marketing for Cameron's drilling and production systems (DPS) group.
SBS, based in Murzzuschlag, Austria, will be integrated into the surface systems organization of the Cameron DPS group, which includes Cameron's existing artificial lift business unit headquartered in Campina, Romania.
