Sefine Shipyard in Yalova Province, eastern Turkey, has asked Techano Oceanlift to provide an offshore crane for a new construction support vessel.
This will be delivered to the Agalas/Eidesvik/Reach Subsea consortium.
The 150-metric ton capacity knuckle boom crane will perform subsea construction activities and topside lifting operations.
It will feature an active heave compensated (AHC) winch with a 3,200 m wire for subsea operations; 3D compensation for topside lifts; and a control system and motion compensating system supplied by Intellilift.
The vessel, designed for subsea and offshore wind tasks, will also be equipped for inspection, maintenance and repair. It will have an overall length of 99.9 m, a breadth of 21 m, and accommodation for up to 100 people.
It is Techano Oceanlift’s third crane order from Sefine Shipyard. Work is nearing completion on the first order, a 70-mt crane with separate 3D lifting tool for an Agalas vessel.
For the second project, the company is working on a 150-mt crane for another Eidesvik Agalas vessel, which will be a replica of the latest model requested.
“Making a copy helps to de-risks project execution for us, the shipyard and the shipowners,” said Øystein Bondevik, business development and sales director at Techano Oceanlift.
