Kongsberg Maritime will provide electrical, control, safety and propulsion systems for Golar LNG’s Mk2 FLNG project under a $25 million-plus contract.

The project involves lengthening of the LNG tanker Fuji LNG by nearly 100 m and conversion to an FLNG vessel at the CIMC Raffles shipyard in Yantai, China.

Black & Veatch will supply the topside LNG process plant.

Kongsberg Maritime's package will include two UUC305 azimuth thrusters, electrical systems, and an integrated control and safety system (ICSS).

The thrusters will incorporate a heading control system that does not require full DP capabilities for the vessel.

The ICSS will be designed to integrate control of the process plant, energy management, power distribution, cargo handling, ballast control and auxiliary systems.

Its safety facilities will include emergency shutdown, fire and gas detection, and process shutdown systems.
