ABS has issued approval in principle to Wison New Energies’ design for a 268-m-long floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility.

It is designed to operate both offshore and at shore with a production capacity of about 1.2 MM metric tons/year.

“This unit, with its standardized design and scalability has the potential to support LNG production quickly and efficiently,” said Miguel Hernandez, ABS’ senior vice president of Global Offshore.

Hao Jiang, Wison general manager of the FLNG Product Center, added, “Wison is continuously optimizing the performance of our FLNG product design, significantly improving production efficiency while effectively reducing carbon emissions during the production process.”
