Eni and its partners in Area 4 offshore Mozambique have marked the milestone of 5 MM tons of LNG produced from the Coral Sul FLNG.
The vessel, stationed in ultradeep water above the giant Coral gas reservoir in the Rovuma basin, started production in October 2022 and has since exported 70 cargos of LNG and 10 of condensate.
It has a gas liquefaction capacity of 3.4 MMt/year and will eventually produce 450 Bcm from Coral. It is also the first FLNG to be deployed in deepwater offshore Africa.
Eni’s partners in the Area 4 joint venture are Exxon Mobil, CNPC, Galp, KOGAS and ENH.
