COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co. delivers new Sevan Louisiana rig

COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of COSCO Shipyard Group Co. Ltd., delivered its newbuild Sevan Louisiana drilling rig to Sevan Drilling ASA on Oct. 23.

SINGAPORE –COSCO (Qidong) Offshore Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of COSCO Shipyard Group Co. Ltd., delivered its newbuild Sevan Louisiana drilling rig to Sevan Drilling ASA on Oct. 23. The Sevan Louisiana is the third Sevan 650 ultra-deepwater cylindrical drilling rig that COSCO Shipyard Group has built for Sevan Drilling.

The Sevan Louisiana – measuring 99 m (325 ft) in length, 75 m (246 ft) in breadth, and 24.5 m (80 ft) in depth – has a working depth of 3,800 m (12,467 ft) and a drilling depth of 12,000 m (39,370 ft). Sevan ultra deepwater drilling rigs’ variable deck load capacity is above 15,000 tons.
