SNEEK, the Netherlands – Lankhorst Euronete Brazil has completed delivery of polyester mooring lines and thimbles for the FPSOCidade de Itaguai MV26 in the Santos basin offshore Brazil, under a contract with SOFEC Inc.
The spread mooring system comprises 24 legs, arranged in four groups of six legs at each corner of the FPSO. Each mooring line contains three 959-m (3,146-ft) polyester Cabral 512 ropes segments and steel roulette thimbles. Additionally LEB has supplied three polyester rope segments and thimbles for one spare line.
In total, LEB has supplied 75,000 m (246,062 ft) of Ultra Deep Water Cabral 512 rope, with a minimum breaking load of 1,197 metric tons (1,319 tons), to permanently moor theCidade de Itaguaí in a water depth of approximately 2,240 m (7,349 ft).
Scheduled to begin production in 2016, the FPSO is designed to process 150,000 b/d of oil, 280 MMcf/d of gas, and has a storage capacity of 1.6 MMbbl of total fluids.
