FIGUERAS, Spain – Gondan Shipyard has launched a new platform supply vessel for Norwegian ship-owner Simon Møkster Shipping.
The new PSV, based on the UT 776 WP “Wave Piercing” Rolls Royce Marine design, is 92 m (302 ft) long with a beam of 20 m (65 ft).
Unlike the preceding PSVStril Luna delivered by Gondan to the same client, and currently operating for Statoil offshore Norway, this vessel will have a FiFi II system, with monitors installed at the stern, and a higher De-Icing class notation.
Additionally, it will be equipped with the RRM “Unified Bridge,” making the vessel control board one of the most modern in the world today, Gondan claims. Delivery is scheduled for early next year.
