SINGAPORE – Golar Gandria, a subsidiary of Golar LNG, has contracted Keppel Shipyard to convert the Moss type LNG carrier Gandria to a floating LNG facility.
Keppel’s work scope is similar to its two previous orders for conversions of theHilli and Gimi LNG carriers.
The shipyard will perform design, detailed engineering and procurement of the marine systems and all conversion-related construction services, with Black & Veatch providing design, procurement, and commissioning support services for the topsides and the liquefaction process using its PRICO technology.
As with theGimi, full construction activities for the Gandria will start after Keppel has received a notice to proceed, which is likely in 2016. The conversion is expected to take around 31 months to complete.
