ULSTEINVIK, NorwayIsland Offshore is converting the Island Condor to an offshore construction vessel for a new long-term contract due to start this September with an unnamed client in Norway.

Over the past few years, Island Condor has been operating as a walk-to-work vessel in the UK sector.

Following the conversion at the Myklebust Yard, the vessel will be equipped with two ROVs, an offshore crane, a helideck and a larger battery pack. The ship's midsection, including interior fittings, will be extended, and an ROV hangar will be constructed.

These changes will allow the vessel to perform inspection work, crane operations and other tasks for the oil and gas and renewable energy sectors.

Island Condor has an SPS class with a cabin capacity of 83 persons.

This contract agreement was announced by Island Offshore in late December 2023.
