Offshore staff
ZAANDAM, the Netherlands – KenzFigee has delivered two pipehandling gantry cranes for Spliethoff’s two newbuild multipurpose DP2 B-type offshore supply vessels Brouwersgracht and Bloemgrach.
The two removable and automated pipehandling gantry cranes are designed for fast and safe loading and discharging of pipes both onshore and offshore.
Each can move pipes from a pipehandling platform to a position in the cargo hold and vice versa, and each has a SWL capacity of 135 t. The crane length is adjustable for handling single or double-joint pipe lengths or multiple pipe dimensions.
Features of the electric-driven gantry cranes include an anti-sway and semi-automatic movement system that allows the cranes to operate unmanned in the cargo, enhancing safety and production during offshore operations; a redundant power supply to improve reliability and availability; and an integrated interface with the hatch cover system to create more loading capacity.
Fuzhou Mawei shipyard delivered the first vessel, M.v. Brouwersgracht, to Spliethoff in February. Both vessels will also be equipped with Huisman 50-mt heavy-lift mast cranes, allowing them to perform heavy-lift transportation and offshore installation.
To comply with SOx and NOx emissions regulations, the propulsion and power generation systems include scrubbers and SCR-systems.
