STEINHAUSEN, Switzerland – Transocean Ltd. has issued an update on its offshore drilling rig fleet.
As of April 28, the company’s total backlog is about $7.4 billion.
Beacon Offshore Energy has awarded the ultra-deepwater drillship Deepwater Asgard a three-well contract, plus a one-well option in the US Gulf of Mexico. The contract is expected to run from June to October 2021 at a day rate of $240,000. However, from July to August the day rate is $280,000 because it includes MPD services.
BHP has exercised a one-well option for the ultra-deepwater drillship Deepwater Invictus in the US Gulf of Mexico. It is expected to start in June and end in August 2021 at a day rate of $215,000.
POSCO has awarded the ultra-deepwater semisubmersible Deepwater Nautilus a three-well contract, plus three one-well options. The day rate is $135,000, but the location was not disclosed. The contract is expected to run from April to July 2021. The company has exercised a one-well option.
Equinor has exercised a one-well option for the harsh-environment semisub Transocean Norge offshore Norway.
The company’s newbuild ultra-deepwater drillship Deepwater Titan is expected to start a five-year contract with Chevron in the Gulf of Mexico in the second half of 2022.
In addition, the drilling contractor said Beacon Offshore Energy and its partners are expected to make a final investment decision on the Shenandoah project in the US Gulf of Mexico on or before July 31, 2021.
