ABERDEEN, UK – Fennex has developed an app for use across the global drilling fleet of Noble Holding Corp.

The Behavioural Based Safety Solution (BBSS) is described as a cloud-based intuitive platform that provides live visual dashboards and intelligent analytics tools to aid decision-making and operational performance.

It combines safety observation data sourced from both safety cards and digital tools.

Under the collaboration between Fennex and Noble a team of digital specialists managed to fully digitalize Noble’s safety observation program in just 12 weeks.

To allow for varying levels of digital readiness throughout the rig fleet, the solution included an app for mobile phone and tablet use offshore and a paper card designed for conversion to digital data using machine learning.

Results to date show increased participation by employees, improved data analysis, and time savings.

Barry Quinn, HSE Director added: “The ease as to which users can enter an observation from cards, phones, tablets or desktops has made ‘observations’ attractive again and appeals to our digitally astute workforce.

“The data, digital reports, trends and analysis from a real-time system mean we are able to improve and get ahead of issues before they become lagging indicators.”
