UK subsea center recruits research head

Dr Richard Neilson has joined The National Subsea Research Institute (NSRI) as academic research director.

ABERDEEN, UK -- Dr. Richard Neilson has joined The National Subsea Research Institute (NSRI) as academic research director.

He brings over 20 years experience as a lecturer and researcher in various Scottish universities. He also spent four years on secondment with oil service company Rotech Drilling Services, where he was responsible for the design and analysis of downhole tools.

NSRI is a partnership between Subsea UK, the University of Aberdeen, Newcastle University, Robert Gordon University, and the University of Dundee. Its goal is to formulate a coordinated research strategy for the subsea sector, developing and maintaining the UK as a leading center for subsea technology and related skills.
