Deepwater Brazil Special Report
Baker Hughes has won two contracts for flexible pipe systems offshore Brazil, the company reported in a results update.
Following an open tender, Petrobras issued a second order in successive quarters to Baker Hughes’ OFSE division.
The new contract covers the supply of 48 miles of flexible pipe for four different fields, engineered to counter stress-induced corrosion cracking from CO2.
Brava Energia commissioned OFSE to provide 9 miles of flexible pipe for deployment in the Campos Basin.
In addition, OFSE signed an agreement with AIQ, ADNOC and CORVA to develop the AI Rate of Penetration (ROP) Optimization initiative. This is targeting improved drilling efficiency in real time through providing insights and recommendations for optimizing weight on bit, rotations per minute and other parameters.
ADNOC and AIQ also recently completed a proof-of-concept trial of ENERGYai, an artificial intelligence service for the energy sector.
