BILLINGHAM, UK – An unnamed operator has commissioned Tracerco, part of Johnson Matthey Plc, to provide asset integrity data on risers in the Gulf of Mexico.
The operator is seeking to extend the life of more than 18 risers.
Under the contract, Tracerco will deploy Discovery, a subsea computed tomography scanner designed for external scanning of pipelines. It will gather real-time data on a variety of integrity issues including pipeline corrosion, pitting, and wall thinning.
