Prosafe rig lined up for project support offshore Western Australia

OSLO, Norway — Prosafe has a conditional letter of intent for a 15-month contract for its semisubmersible Safe Boreas offshore Western Australia.

The contract, which would run for 15 months with optional extensions, involves providing gangway connected operations. The estimated value is $75 million to $100 million.

If confirmed, Safe Boreas will mobilize from the North Sea during second-quarter 2025. Prior to starting the program, the rig will undergo a five-yearly special periodic survey and other maintenance.

Safe Boreas offers a large deck area, cranes and a passive motion-compensated gangway.
