LONDON Tower Resources has executed a contract with Borr Drilling for use of the jackup Norve to drill the NJOM-3 well next year on the Thali license offshore Cameroon in 2024.

Currently the rig is contracted to deliver a series of wells, the timing of which is subject to operational uncertainty. However, after completing this program, it should become available between April and August 2024.

Tower aims to spud the NJOM-3 well in either the seond or third quarter. But the contract is also subject to conditions concerning final documentation of the Thali license extension, to be agreed with Cameroon’s Ministry of Mines, Industry and Technological Development, and pre-payment of part of the rig hire.

Norve, delivered in 2011 from the PPL shipyard in Singapore, can operate in water depths of up to 400 ft.

Tower added that it hopes to conclude farm-out discussions with multiple parties during first-quarter 2024.
