STEINHAUSEN, Switzerland — Transocean has secured new drilling contracts with a cumulative value of $1.12 billion, according to the company’s latest fleet status update.
One of its seventh-generation ultradeepwater drillships—Deepwater Invictus, Deepwater Thalassa or Deepwater Proteus—will be assigned a 1,080-day contract offshore Mexico at a rate of $480,000/d.
Offshore Australia Transocean Equinox has a five-well contract and an option for a further well ($455,000/d) as well as a separate 16-well contract at a rate of $485,000/d, plus 21 one-well options (rates between $485,000 and $540,000/d).
Transocean Barents will drill one well offshore Lebanon ($365,000/d), with three one-well options at potential rates of between $350,000 and $390,000/d. A client using the same rig elsewhere in the East Mediterranean Sea has exercised a one-well option at $370,000/d.
In Norway the operator using Transocean Encourage has exercised six one-well options ($464,000/d). Another client in the sector has taken up a one-well option for Transocean Norge ($365,000/d), plus three one-well options at $420,000/d.
Finally, Transocean Endurance has a two-well fixture offshore Norway at $385,000/d.
